My name is King Polo. I am a decendant of Marco Polo going to find silk in four cities. We have started our journey and will be stopping in Sarmakan first. The navigator says we have 25 miles to go. It should take seven days to get there by camel . I have hired guards to protect us from bandits. I also bought food for us.

Samarkand The City of Merchants Sunday,May 12, 1424 A.D.

We have entered the city.I am amazed at how large it is. There are merchants selling many things all along the streets. The streets are so packed that we had to walk to the stands for food. There were different foods in the city than in Venice. There are many people who travel the silk road and there are many religions.

Samarkand The City of Merchants Monday,May 13, 1424 A.D.

We are about to leave but first we must buy silk. The first merchant we see I trade all of his silk for a measly basket of fruit. As my navigator and I go back to the carriage we see that someone stole our food. All of my guards are knocked out and one is dead he was hit in the head with a blunt tool. We bury him and buy more food and were on our way.

Chang'an Thursday,May 16, 1424 A.D.

We are in Chang'an the silk here is perfect for my customers. I won't stay here for the night because of what happened Monday. Chang'an is smaller than my last stop but has better silk in my opinion. We are about to leave but first I must visit my cousin who is a silk merchant. He will give me agood deal on silk.We visit him and get a good price on great silk. Its time to go our next stop is Istanbul.

Istanbul Monday, May 20,1424 A.D.

We are in Istanbul one of the greatest cities on the silk road. There are many religions along the silk road like Buddism, Confucionism, and Hinduism. I have experienced many types of food like lava a flat bread and domas a type of leaf stuffed with vegetables.. We will stay for the night but will leave early in the morning. The silk here is different than my last stops. The people are of many different languages, cultures, and customs.

I have lost two more soldiers to fever. I only have three more lets hope we make it. Our next stop is Kashgar.

Kashgar Thursday, June 1, 1424 A.D.

Kashgar is the quickest stop we make. I buy plenty of food and some silk. It will be a long way home but I am ready to see my wife. I will always salute the guards who died for me. This will be my last journal of this trip. I am tired and am ready to lay in my own bed.
